Custom Engineering

Marine conditions, custom solutions

Boat racing doesn't fit into a standard off-the-shelf package. Courses vary widely: drag shoots of a few hundred feet, circle courses around buoy markers, and multi-lap endurance events. IR beam placement, line-of-sight across water, and waterproof housings all require custom engineering.

We adapt components from our drag, speed-trap, and circuit timing systems to the geometry of your course. Past installs have covered pro boat drag, jet ski, outboard, and offshore endurance events. If you're running a boat racing program and need reliable timing, we want to talk to you.

FAQ

Questions about this system

Do you have off-the-shelf boat racing packages?

Not yet. Every boat racing configuration we've built has been custom because course geometry varies so much. If enough tracks request similar setups, we'll publish standard packages.

Can existing drag or speed-trap timing be used for boat drag?

Yes, with marine-rated modifications. The XL timing consoles and speed-trap electronics can be adapted — we'll help you understand what needs to be waterproofed vs. what can stay ashore.

How long does a custom boat racing install take?

Discovery call to quote: about one week. Lead time on custom waterproof hardware typically runs 6–10 weeks depending on scope.

Tell us about your event

Every boat racing install is different. Share your course layout, vessel type, and what you need to measure — we'll come back with a system design and ballpark estimate within a few days.
